Back from the Netherlands

I´ve been producing marketing films for Amsterdam for more then four years now and the city never stop surprising me. Amsterdam is truly a never ending story and I love it!

This time we´ve been catching up on new museums, one being the stunning new EYE (EYE Amsterdam is the film institute of the Netherlands that is exclusively dedicated to film and the moving image).

We also produced a number of marketing films for Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. Another great area (kind of hidden) is the forest around Epe, East Holland.

We change the production vehicle from the Volvo Traveler (used in the Swedish snow mountains) to a more speedy one, the Volvo S60 R (redesign). What a performance!

LOCATION – Helagsfjället snow mountain summit, 1800 meter over the ocean. Kent, at the Posten Fritid and also part of the mountain rescue team, took us on a wild ride on his snowmobile. But blistering cold, snow and high wind surprised us when we tried to reach the top of this most southern glacier in Sweden. We made it to the base camp where we did produce some spectacular footage that will eventually be part of a film for Posten Fritid (Swedish Post Office) and their most extreme outposts.

After three days on the snow mountain our next stop will be at the Stiftelsen Posten Fritid Hotel & Resort Gyllene Hornet in Tällberg, Dalarna County.

Our transport vehicle, a Volvo XC90 Traveler took us off the mountain safe and with ease.

From Swedish highland to Holland under the sea

The spring production is on – from the Swedish highlands to The Netherlands under the sea.

The production vehicle is a Volvo XC Traveler

In the beginning of April we will take off on an adventures journey. The first production will be for the Swedish Post Office (´Posten Fritid´) which will take us north, deep into the Swedish interior and the ski resorts Ljungdalen, Sälen and Tällberg. Then we will come back to Stockholm, repack and take off to The Netherlands for an Amsterdam Travel & Convention Bureau production. We will be filming in Amsterdam and North Holland. With the two productions back-to-back we will cover over 5000 km, climbing up to 1000 meter over the Baltic Sea off the Sweden east coast and then ending up, or should I say, ending down in The Netherlands 4 meters under the Atlantic Ocean.

Göran Assner, a friend and a great photographer, always says; “the spring/summer arrives when the leaves on the trees arrives”. In the Nordic hemisphere this happens around May 15, according to Göran. But well before that Frida, our old sailboat, have to be in the water. This is a must for a wooden beauty. Otherwise you will have a boat sitting on the bottom of the sea.

I can´t wait. Welcome spring!

LA looks the same…

Los Angeles, my home base for over 15 years, is the same. Nowadays I´m working more in Europe, Asia and my favorite city San Francisco, but during the 80´s and early 90´s LA was my home. We lived in the beautiful Pacific Palisades high up on Lachman Lane. Every morning we had breakfast on the front porch overlooking the Pacific Ocean. During the winter months we could see all the way to Catalina Island. Those were the days. Well, now I´m back for business. We´re planing for a new entertainment documentary. Will tell you more about it later. Here are some pictures in a drive-by-shooting style. The early morning shots are from our trip down from San Francisco on Interstate 5. The others are from Los Angeles. Would I move back? Nope, my favorite place is up north. LA for work and San Francisco to live.

Family business at the ranch

Now I´m back in San Francisco. Warm, sunny, Christmas fun and business as usual. One of my assignment this time is for Sara, my daughter. She started up her own business and it´s all about horses. The idea is simple – she is offering the US cowboys style! To be more specific it is all about Swedish design. We are shooting stills and filming videos for Sara this week. Here are a couple of pictures of Sara´s own horse Versace. I tell you he is a beauty and a real character.

After New Year we will be in Los Angeles working on a new TV project. More about that production at a later date.
