LA looks the same…

Los Angeles, my home base for over 15 years, is the same. Nowadays I´m working more in Europe, Asia and my favorite city San Francisco, but during the 80´s and early 90´s LA was my home. We lived in the beautiful Pacific Palisades high up on Lachman Lane. Every morning we had breakfast on the front porch overlooking the Pacific Ocean. During the winter months we could see all the way to Catalina Island. Those were the days. Well, now I´m back for business. We´re planing for a new entertainment documentary. Will tell you more about it later. Here are some pictures in a drive-by-shooting style. The early morning shots are from our trip down from San Francisco on Interstate 5. The others are from Los Angeles. Would I move back? Nope, my favorite place is up north. LA for work and San Francisco to live.

Family business at the ranch

Now I´m back in San Francisco. Warm, sunny, Christmas fun and business as usual. One of my assignment this time is for Sara, my daughter. She started up her own business and it´s all about horses. The idea is simple – she is offering the US cowboys style! To be more specific it is all about Swedish design. So if you like to have horse lovers turning their heads when you ride in to the sunset go and shop at myhorsestyle.com.

We are shooting stills and filming videos for Sara this week. Here are a couple of pictures of Sara´s own horse Versace. I tell you he is a beauty and a real character.

After New Year we will be in Los Angeles working on a new TV project. More about that production at a later date.

Photos: Zu Zhongren (one photo by me – the umbrellas at night).

I´m just back from one very interesting assignments. I´ve been to Shanghai, invited by the city officials to portray the city during eight days. Together with six other photographers from all over the world we captured the city. Each photographer with there own style and artistic eye.  My colleague and new friends are  Elisabeth Montagnier, Marseille,  Enver Hirsch, Hamburg,  Claudio Bonoldi, Milano,  Feco Imperio Hamburger, Sao Paulo,  Michael Rauner, San Francisco,  Nii Takao, Nagasaki, (can´t find his URL) Janolof Fritze, Gothenburg (that´s me). “The Seven Photographers”

The campaign  “Shanghai through the eyes of world photographers” will be showcased  throughout the world. There will be photo books and oversea  exhibitions.

Andy Worhol once said that we all will have 15 minutes of fame in our life. Well I got more than that. One day we were asked to meet the press. More than 30 photographers and news team from TV showed up on the boardwalk.

You who knows me know that my trademark is interaction with people and therefore I like to see myself as a street photographer. Catching the brief moment of real people in their daily life. The reward is immense!

This will be the last summer race with “Frida”, the 1966 Folkboat. Sebastian will lift her out of the salty sea. “Frida” will hibernate through the long Swedish winter. I will on the other hand gear-up for all the waiting film assignments. The first major one will be  when I´m venturing on a very special journey to Shanghai where my assignment is of highest artistic level. I will tell you more about it when I´m back.

Way Out With Prince

My meeting with Prince was short but memorable. It was back in Los Angeles 1991 and Roxette took the Californians by storm. We did a story on Per Gessle cruising down Sunset Boulevard in my Ford Thunderbird 1959. After rapping up the photo session in front of Tower Records we went for a drink at the Rainbow Bar and Grill. Normally they give you a valid parking ticket and drive off with your car to a parking lot. But my beautiful 59 squarebird staid in front of the club (together with a Lamborghini and a few Ferrari’s) . Leaving the club and waiting for the keys to my T-bird Prince and his entourage showed up. Prince looked at my lipstick red squarebird and then looked at me and said, “really nice whip (car)”.
